SS 316, 316L & 316Ti Hexagonal Bar

Stainless Steel 316, 316L and 316Ti Hexagonal Bars are premium austenitic stainless steel products valued for their superior corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides and industrial solvents. With a six-sided profile, these hex bars combine high strength with excellent machinability, making them ideal for demanding industrial, marine, and chemical processing applications. The addition of molybdenum sets 316-series grades apart from 304-series, giving markedly better pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. 316L carries a lower carbon content for improved weldability, while 316Ti is stabilized with titanium for enhanced performance at elevated temperatures.

What is SS 316, 316L & 316Ti Hexagonal Bar

SS 316 Hexagonal Bars are molybdenum-alloyed austenitic stainless steels offering excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. SS 316L Hexagonal Bars are the low-carbon variant, developed to minimize carbide precipitation during welding and preserve corrosion resistance in heat-affected zones. SS 316Ti Hexagonal Bars are titanium-stabilized, preventing intergranular corrosion during prolonged exposure to temperatures between 425°C and 900°C, making them suited to high-temperature service such as exhaust systems and chemical processing equipment. Together, these grades are the preferred choice for marine hardware, pharmaceutical equipment, oil & gas components, and chemical processing plants.
